Blood tests and Results
When and Where?
Blood testing is now available at “Shawbirch Surgery”. Please make an appointment. It is essential that you bring the blood form with you.
Blood tests are also performed at the princess royal hospital 9:00-4:00 Monday to Friday, no appointments necessary. Go to the main entrance and turn left in the foyer (sign posted to coffee shop). As you pass the coffee shop you will see the sign for blood.
Fasting Test
For a fasting test you need to have nothing to eat and nothing but water to drink for 12 hours before your blood test.
Results
It is your responsibility to phone up for the results.
The results are sent electronically back to your doctor who then decides whether they are normal and if any action is needed. They will write this on the result so that the receptionist can read it out. More complicated tests may take longer then this.
AFTER 3-4 DAYS PLEASE RING RECEPTION AFTER 11am FOR YOUR BLOOD RESULTS
