Practice Nurse Services


Our nursing staff offer appointments for routine , travel immunisations, new patient medicals, ear syringing, cervical smears, dressings, routine and emergency contraception. Our nurses also undertake the follow-up clinics for diabetes, coronary heart disease, asthma and chronic obstructive airways disease. Our nurses are also now starting a new service – Fast Track Treatment.

 

Child Health


All the doctors in the practice provide routine child health surveillance in conjunction with the health visitors who offer a drop in service on a Monday and Thursday afternoon.

 

Maternity Services


We have a community midwife permanently attached to the surgery allowing us to share your antenatal care.

 

Sexual Health


Each Wednesday afternoon we offer a clinic specifically designed to address contraceptive, and sexual health issues. This is run by Dr C. Freeman and Dr J. Davies in association with the practice nurses.

 

Diabetes, Asthma, Weight Reduction, Quit Smoking


By appointment with practice nurses, healthcare assistants and health visitors.

 

Phlebotomy (Blood Taking) 


By arrangement and appointment with healthcare assistants .

                                                                                 

Counselling


We are fortunate to have a team of counsellors based within the surgery—your doctor will inform you how to access them.

 

Specialised Health Checks


Coronary heart disease, Diabetes and Asthma clinics are held with our practice nurse.

 

Wednesday Clinic


We now hold a Wednesday Clinic for the following: Coil fitting, pill check, contraception advice, juvenile condom service.

 

Cervical Smears


By appointment with the practice nurse. Recommended for women aged 25 - 49, three yearly and 50 - 65, five yearly.

 

Travel Advice


Contact the surgery as soon as possible after booking your holiday giving details of the destination etc. If needed an appointment can be made with the practice nurse, this aims to ensure safe and healthy travel. Well Person Clinic


Appointment with the practice nurse, providing general health screening programme.

 

Diabetic Foot Nurse


Referral by GP or practice nurse, clinics held fortnightly, by appointment, for patients with diabetes preventing secondary complications.

 

Quit Smoking Clinic


Self referral, weekly clinic held via health visitors, providing support and assistance for patients, who wish to stop smoking.

 

Antenatal Care


A midwife is at the surgery on Monday and Friday between 1.30 - 3pm, providing antenatal care.

 

Minor Ailments Clinic


Our practice nurses are now able to offer appointments daily for minor ailments.
